sometimes i think sometimes i don't

yay for matchstick !
i'm expecting a parcel full of harajuku lovers fragrance this week.
i'm so excited, especially since i was thinking of purchasing one of the perfumes (maybe baby ? or love? it's so hard to choose ...) before even taking the matchstick survey.
expect immediate feedback as soon as i get it !

in other news, i know my posts have been (extremely) delayed lately. sorry about that. i am here to make up for it though.
inspiration.

thanks to mary kate olsen (amongst others: lc wore a cute turquoise one a long time ago, didn't she ? that image is kind of stuck in my head) i've been craving a good gingham button-up lately. plaid is one thing, but gingham is another. also, i'm getting my hair cut next week and i've been contemplating various styles (see: bangs, sideswept, choppy layers, sleek or egdy) in the meantime.

music that makes me happy: gwb (fuck you very much) by lily allen; baby i need your lovin' by the four tops; wicked little girls by esthero; since the last time by arrested development; chasing pavement by adele; taper jean girl by kings of leon.

i recently realised that if ever it were to happen for someone to ask me what my favourite band is, i would be semi-speachless. and so, over the last week or so, i mulled over my response. and i came to the brilliant conclusion that the kings of leon are probably my favourite band. the fact that i like every one of their songs is indubitably reason enough for me to give them such a title, no ? and besides, half the bandmates (see: all brothers, the followills) are simple gorgeous (namely, caleb (his name alone makes me melt), who apparently had a fling with kimberly stewart and jared, whom i've loved forever).

and i leave you with jared.

i (haveneverbeento) ny

voila, my fall wardrobe.
sumptuous furs, greys, blood red nails and lips, complete with badass extras. these clothes embody the tough grunge chic i adore. albeit a bit fantastical (my meager budget won't allow for splurges such as those killer chanel heels), it still remains as the inspiration for my autumnal garb.
all i've got to do is add my omnipresent ripped nylons and circle my peepers with slate liner and i'm all set for the season of crispy leaves and pumpkin spice lattes.

maybe credit cards are romance.

when my hair gets as long as sienna's was in alfie, i am so getting bangs and a warm blonde colour. i mean, there's no way you can wrong with honey locks.

in other news, how cool is this cheap monday skirt (sold at urban outfitters) ?

i'm going to the loblaws superstore tomorrow: the only store which sells joe fresh style (good clothes, even better prices). in my mind, joe's is the equivalent of sjp's bitten in the states, except for we have more taxes. actually, just more expensive in general.

hopefully i'll get my hands on some good fall basics such as:
marine stripes; high-waisted skirts, trousers or denim; structured jackets, capelets or blazers; loose-fitting knitwear; chunky sweaters; superlong long-sleeved tees; rocker booties; thick scarves; hoisiery; and anything else that seems worth my while.

i'll update upon my return with purchases & finds.

she's the second best killer i ever have seen

hair: such a fickle issue, no ?
my previous 'do (read: almost two years ago) was a pixie crop à la miss deyn, or so i thought. i foolishly figured that her much buzzed about style would transform me into quite the little gamine, and while some liked it, i was convinced it made me look even more like a little boy. as you can imagine, my already linear body and dental braces didn't help erase this image. so, i eagerly awaited the day where my short strands would be replaced by a cascading mane. well, here i am now and it might not be deemed cascading by any terms, but it's a definite improvement. recently, after much hemming and hawing, i finally cut my hair again. this time, i was pulling inspiration from two of of my favourite ladies ...

none other than the iconic jane birkin and kate moss.
the perfectly unkempt and messy look of the rocker bang has me hooked. really, what's not to love ? it's essentially effortless, and best of all, very sexy. you know, so all that batting of your lashes beneath the heavy fringe won't go unnoticed.
perfect for little boy-like me.

testing one two three.

the ongoing debate of whether or not i want to go edgier for fall when it comes to my fringe is still, well, ongoing. thing is, i can't help but shake daisy lowe's sleek model-like look everytime i lean towards the simple side-swept bangs, which then brings me back to the very start.

try telling me that she isn't the hottest thing on the face of the earth.
i dare you.

songs i like right now: saturday by elecrelane; thunder in my heart again by meck; need your needs by georgie james; elisa by serge gainsbourg; california by rufus wainwright; tired & uninspired by my american heart; and jesus christ by brand new.

i've been tired & uninspired.

i lovelovelove the lookbook for play by c. ronson on urbanoutfitters.com. personally, i think it's the perfect blend of advertising & beautifying, like an editorial that really sells the goods. more than that, the model's hair is my newfound destiny - i really want that shade !

ps - i want these tights so badly.

just a series of blurs, like i never occurred.

monday clothing comprised of h&m skirt, grey longsleeve shirt with peter pan collared polo underneath, aa tights, and metallic blue h&m flats.

zoë & i both went to play in the same hockey tournament (but in different cities), which is why we were m.i.a. for so long, as she's already explained.
sorry !

but i did have the chance to get a little bit of shopping done:

tank/corset trompe-l'oeil dress, big hair bow, black lace undies, frilly pink undies, & lots of vibrant socks.
