heirlooms in dumpsters.

one of my favourite fall / winter 08 lines was jenni kayne's.

i love the simple but delicate glamour that it exhuded, the old world sophistication mixed with modern shapes which brilliantly evoke seductive charm. all pf the pieces, including this supple fur trench, just seemed so luxurious & exclusive. and i especially loved the asymetrical neckline on the first lbd.

i must say i was slightly surprised to see a designer hailing from sunny los angeles to show such a demure and clean collection. her usual flirty dresses are still present, however, although they're the more grown-up version.

reminiscent of the recent menswear trend, the shapes are classic, to say the least. a simply cut men's suit looks best in black. in more ways than one, kayne referenced grunge and the forties, all packaged into one pretty collection.

zoë.
