A little over five months ago, I was perusing the shoe section at my local Zellers department store, and I came upon the perfect pair of cotton, elasticized, granny shoes. Completely flat, without the constricting arch shape already in place, these shoes were the epitomy of basic - and in my eyes, simply adorable. Appearance-wise, I think they very much resemble TOMS, except less slipper-like & more tight ruched flats. Flats, flats, flats, okay I think I've gotten my point accross.
The big news, is that now, they sell them at Payless. I've been looking all over for a similar pair, because I own them in black, but white would also be nice. Unfortunately, I realised the shoes themselves are no longer sold at any Zellers, anywhere. I had pretty much given up all hope, when suddenly, clicking my way through the new arrivals section on the Payless website, I came accross these bad boys.
Now, of course, they don't really contribute to saving the world like TOMS do, nor do they come in a variety of happy colours & shades, but they do have a pricetag of 12.99$, which pleases me.

So, in conclusion, I much prefer the look of the new Payless pair than the TOMS, and their simple hues make it ever-so-easy to paint or DIY them [my last pair used to be the home to half a dozen or so bedazzled rhinestones. I was going for the whole gypsy look.]

Those are great shoes, I'll have to check and see if they have them at my local Payless. I got these plimsoles at Zellars for five bucks, and they're definately my favourite shoes, though they wear out fast!
Payless suddenly got so much more classier.
Dude, I love granny shoes! One of my stylish best friends has a pair of these in black and she rocks them like no other.
I believe that they also sell them at KMart and dollar stores.
Thanks for the heads up! I love them, especially in white. I think a trip to Payless is now in order.
